Bonus for chief executive is good practice, says CIPD president

The CIPD has defended the reward package of chief executive Jackie Orme following reports that she was paid a bonus this year.Vicky Wright, CIPD President and Chair of the CIPD’s Remuneration Committee, said that Orme’s reward package contains “a significant element that is linked to the achievement of a range of financial and strategic objectives.” She also stressed that the significant performance related pay element made Orme’s contract very different from other employees at the CIPD – placing a large proportion of her remuneration at risk each year.
