Childcare vouchers to lose tax relief
Tax relief on employer childcare vouchers is to be removed by April 2015, Gordon Brown announced yesterday. The prime minister plans to use money generated from the reforms to provide free childcare for families on lower incomes.
In his closing speech to the Labour Party conference he said: “I am proud to announce that by reforming tax relief we will by the end of the next Parliament be able to give the parents of a quarter of a million two-year-olds free childcare for the first time.”
