Government to expand Local Employment Partnerships

Targets for Local Employment Partnerships (LEPs) to get people into work will be trebled from 250,000 to 750,000, the government has said.Yvette Cooper, work and pensions secretary, told the Labour Party conference in Brighton that LEPs have been so popular that the original target of 250,000 was reached a year early. Now an extra half a million people could get LEP support.
