Irish employers demand swine flu sick notes
Employers in Ireland are insisting that staff who are off work because of swine flu produce a doctor’s certificate to verify their illness.
Patricia Callan, head of the Small Firms Association, a branch of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation, which represents small- to medium-sized enterprises, said that swine flu could be used as an excuse for absenteeism.
