Lawyers’ association criticises fit notes

The Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) has questioned the introduction of fit notes, saying that they could “create more problems than they solve” unless great care is taken. The new notes, set to replace sick notes in 2010, encourage doctors to say if people are fit for some work and to suggest workplace adaptations.
