Fall in number of non-executive directors

The number of non-executive directors (Neds) at FTSE-100 companies has fallen by 16 per cent in the past year, a study has found.The Reward Technology Forum (RTF), the company which carried out the research, also found that average pay for Neds fell by 5 per cent, from £86,576 in 2007/08 to £81,930 in 2008/09.
