Firms sign up to government’s ‘cycle to work guarantee’
BSkyB, E.ON and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) are among 70 major employers to sign up to a new government pledge to boost the number of people cycling to work.The firms will guarantee to provide safe bike storage and changing facilities on site and easy access to repair services as part of the pledge. The employers, which include dozens of local authorities and hospitals, will also ensure that staff can offset the cost of cycling equipment through the government’s “cycle to work” tax break scheme.
