Employers should embrace the learning benefits of social media and not be held back by fears about control, the head of the BBC Academy told the conference. Nick Shackleton-Jones said that the fast pace of change in technology had driven a shift towards informal learning, through media such as wikis, blogs, Facebook and Twitter. Learning by these methods “was already happening”.
