CIPD chief pledges a new generation of HR professionals

The CIPD will create a generation of “stronger and more confident” HR professionals, chief executive Jackie Orme pledged in her opening speech at the institute’s annual conference.

Speaking at the first CIPD annual conference to be held in Manchester, Orme said the institute would shape the profession to be “truly fit for the future”. “It’s an audacious goal. But I’m determined that the CIPD will be ambitious on behalf of this profession,” she said.
