How to... stop redundancies turning into unfair dismissals
The most recent figures released by the employment tribunal service reveal that claims for unfair dismissal have risen by nearly 30 per cent in the wake of the recession, while claims for failing to consult employees correctly before making redundancies have rocketed by a massive 154 per cent.This suggests an increasing number of individuals are bringing claims after being made redundant, either because they have genuine complaints or simply to increase their monetary compensation.
