HR must reinvent itself to become more strategic to prevent the function being “muscled out” by business executives, a senior HR leader has said.Sharon Doherty, group HR director at Laing O’Rourke, told CIPD conference delegates they needed to widen their approach to go beyond core HR, which concentrates on individuals. She said they needed add value to more areas in order to gain recognition.
