Lloyds to cut 5,000 jobs by end of 2010

Lloyds Banking Group is to cut 5,000 jobs in the UK by the end of next year, it has been announced.The bank is making changes to its group operations, insurance and retail divisions to reduce the overlap created by the merger of Lloyds TSB with HBOS last year.
