Why the best coaching is done ‘in the moment’
This year, more than ever, senior leaders are saying they are too busy dealing with the fallout from the economic crisis to coach. They see coaching as a luxury, not a priority; as an activity, rather than a way of managing. Coaching is much more than a series of open questions set in a formulaic hour-long session. At its best, coaching is a powerful tool to engage and develop staff, whether you have two minutes to do it in or two hours.
