Down-to-earth HR

So Jackie Orme thinks that, “the lean and mean side of human resource management has been pushed to the fore” (News, 19 November).Well, hurrah! About time, too. For too long the active management aspects of HR have been sidelined by the navel-contemplating, blue-sky thinking saviours of the universe that the researchers into HR’s future often come across as.
