The new code tightens up board performance to get a better grip on risk

In the wake of the financial crisis, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has announced a review of the Combined Code of Corporate Governance. It published a consultation document on 1 December 2009, and intends to publish the final revised code in April or May 2010, following a further consultation period. The code will apply to companies with accounting periods beginning on or after 29 June 2010.
