UK Border Agency toughens rules on employing migrant workers
It’s been just over a year since the UK Border Agency (UKBA) rolled out Tiers 2 and 5 of the points-based immigration system. These Tiers cover sponsored skilled workers and temporary workers and replaced various previous immigration categories including work permit arrangements and the working holidaymaker scheme. The UKBA recently announced further amendments to the rules governing the advertising of jobs under the Tier 2 (general) category. The new rules apply to all recruitment campaigns commencing on or after 14 December 2009.
