How refreshing it would be to imagine the coming year without a single mention of the “E” word. The economy (and its downturn/recession/insert-other-euphemism-of-your-choice) dominated, indeed monopolised, the news agenda throughout 2009. Like Henry Ford’s Model T, we could talk about any subject we wanted, provided it was the economy. HR, alas, didn’t occupy a parallel paradise.
