Pension cuts lead to organisation’s first dispute in a century

Pension cutbacks at the AA have sparked a strike ballot at the company for the first time in more than 100 years.Staff at the “fourth emergency service”, as the AA used to be known, are angry because managers plan to cap annual rises in pensionable salaries, raise employee contributions and reduce the maximum annual rise in pensions paid to 2.5 per cent a year.
