Beck v Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce

Beck, 42, was head of marketing. He had a difficult relationship with his manager, who was six years younger. Following a reorganisation, Beck and others were made redundant. The employer instructed recruitment consultants to fill a number of roles, including a marketing team head, referring in the brief to a “younger” candidate.
