Bank of Scotland (Ireland) has announced that it is to close its 44 Halifax branch networks in Ireland, as well as a call centre in Dundalk, with the loss of 750 jobs. But the bank, which is part of the Lloyds Banking Group, will retain its commercial banking presence in Ireland, employing 850 people.
