Successful applicants have start dates postponed by up to 12 months

The Metropolitan Police has implemented a recruitment freeze and told 2,000 successful applicants they must wait before starting their jobs, it has been reported.The candidates had passed the first stage of the application process and were awaiting a fitness test and criminal records check. But they have now received letters postponing their start date by up to a year while the force finds places for them.
