Background noise helps to keep phone conversations private

A low-level background noise is played to staff at the Ministry of Defence’s headquarters as they work, PM has learned.The "pink noise", played at the office in Whitehall, drowns out the sound of a conversation from one person’s desk before it reaches the ears of a colleague in the open plan office, an MoD source told PM .
