Senior NHS managers could face disciplinary hearings
Senior managers within the NHS could be regulated and subject to disciplinary hearings, under new proposals outlined following the Stafford Hospital scandal.
The latest independent inquiry into patient care at Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust found that at least 400 people died between 2005 and 2008 due to appalling ward conditions and staff shortages at Stafford Hospital.
