Swine flu helpline to close as pandemic eases

The government’s swine flu helpline is to close next week, amid growing evidence that the pandemic is coming to an end.The National Pandemic Flu Service (NPFS), set up in July 2009, will close its doors next Thursday (11 February). Rather than using the helpline to have antivirals distributed to their homes, sufferers displaying symptoms are now being told to go to their GP as usual.
