One-third of fathers unaware of paternity leave rights
Many fathers are unaware of their rights at work, a survey has revealed, as the government launches a "Dads at Work" awareness campaign.Research by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (Bis) has found that one in three (34 per cent) parents with children aged under five do not realise that paid paternity leave is law. Moreover, a fifth of dads with kids aged 16 or under do not know whether their company offers flexible working to fathers, despite being entitled to this by law.
