BBC ‘downsizing’ set to have jobs impact
The BBC plans to slash its online budget by 25 per cent and close radio services including 6 Music and the Asian Network, director-general Mark Thompson announced today.
Thompson told staff this morning that the online cuts would be fully implemented by 2013, while 6 Music and the Asian Network would close by 2011. Other closures include teen services Switch and Blast.
