Birmingham City Council sacks social workers over performance

Six social workers have been sacked from Birmingham City Council for failing to meet performance standards, it has been revealed.

Colin Tucker, director of children’s services at the council, claimed the dismissed staff showed “no sign whatsoever” of meeting expected levels of competence.
