HSBC and Standard Chartered CEOs to give bonuses to charity

The chief executives of HSBC and Standard Chartered have said they will give their bonuses to charity this year, in recognition of the difficult times facing the banking sector.Michael Geoghegan of HSBC is entitled to a £4 million bonus, while Peter Sands of Standard Chartered is reported to be receiving a sum of around £2 million. But both men have made it clear they will pass on the money to charitable causes, despite neither bank receiving help from the UK taxpayer during the banking crisis.
