Jobs market continued to improve in February, figures show
The UK labour market picked up further in February, with permanent placements at their highest level since July 2007, according to the Report on Jobs from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG.The monthly index, which draws on survey data provided by recruitment consultancies, revealed that the number of staff placed in permanent posts increased overall for the seventh consecutive month, with the rate of growth accelerating. Around 43 per cent of consultancies reported more placements this month than last, twice the proportion that indicated placements had fallen. Temporary placements also increased, although the growth was much smaller.
