MPs to receive £1,000 pay rise

MPs are in line to receive a pay rise of nearly £1,000 next month, it has been revealed.The increase takes a backbencher’s salary to £65,737, while cabinet ministers - who currently get an extra £79,754 per year - will also be entitled to the 1.5 per cent increase from 1 April.
