Performing arts employers face ‘training time bomb’

Employers in the performing arts sector are not training their staff, leading to skills shortages and skills gaps behind the scenes, according to a report from Creative and Cultural Skills, the sector skills council for creative industries.

The report, The Performing Arts Blueprint , said that while theatres, music venues and other arts organisations are performing robustly in the current economic climate, the lack of training was a "time bomb" preventing the sector from fulfilling its future economic promise.
