Portsmouth FC makes 85 job cuts

Portsmouth Football Club has made nearly a third of its backroom staff redundant, on the day that its administration is expected to be confirmed by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). The troubled south-coast side has shed 85 of 280 non-playing roles, while 12 staff have taken a reduction in hours. The players are being kept on in their jobs on full pay in the hope that a buyer can be found, although some have reportedly discussed wage reductions.
