University pay ‘more generous than comparable sectors'

Pay awards for staff in the higher education (HE) sector have been significantly higher than in other public services, data has revealed.Since 2006-07, HE staff have received a cumulative pay increase of 16.4 per cent, which includes the 2009-10 pay deal, the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) found.
