L&D professionals make the most of reduced budgets

Learning and development professionals are meeting the challenge of working with much-reduced budgets by being more efficient and prioritising the most vital business needs, CIPD research has shown. The 2010 Learning and Development Survey revealed the extent to which training budgets and departments are still suffering in the aftermath of the recession. Over half (52 per cent) of UK organisations are reducing their L&D budgets in the coming year, while only 11 per cent of them are planning to increase them. The majority (65 per cent) of respondents said their organisation is worse off economically than 12 months ago.
