Staff stranded by volcanic ash 'should not get free time off'
Staff stranded abroad by the volcanic ash are not entitled to free time off and should instead be incentivised to get back to work as soon as possible, employment law experts have said.James Froud, senior associate in the employment team at law firm Bird and Bird, told PM that while employees whose flights were cancelled were not at fault, employers should be “looking to encourage people to come home as soon as they can”.
