Boyle v SCA Packaging
The £125,000 settlement in the Boyle case has recently been made public. There was a House of Lords' judgement on it last year. According to the Lords interpretation of the Disability Discrimination Act, employers should consider carefully whether they are making reasonable adjustments when an employee's medical condition is prone to fluctuate unless it is controlled by treatment or medication. If they don’t, employers risk falling foul of the legislation.
