HM Land Registry v Grant
Grant claimed he had been harassed on the grounds of his sexuality by his manager and subjected to direct discrimination. The tribunal upheld many of his claims. But the EAT allowed the employer’s appeal – the tribunal should have taken into account that the claimant was openly gay and that his sexuality was well known among colleagues at his former workplace prior to his promotion to his current role.
