Jelic v Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police
A police constable developed chronic anxiety syndrome and became disabled under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. He was unable to deal with face-to-face meetings with the public and was found an alternative role, but this too evolved into a public‑facing job. The PC became unwell and was retired early on medical grounds.
