Public sector: A cut above
Whatever the outcome of this week’s election, one thing’s for certain: all political parties expect to make heavy cuts in public spending. While no politician on the campaign trail was prepared to give a full picture of where they expected the axe to fall, there are many clues leading observers to predict savings of anything between 10 and 30 per cent over the next three to five years.
