Stevens v Foreign and Commonwealth Office
This recent employment tribunal decision is a stark reminder of how employees are much better protected than self-employed or agency workers, even when it comes to whistle-blowing.Stevens was engaged by a UK specialist security agency, specifically to work for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as an overseas security manager. He was deployed first to Baghdad and was then posted to Lashkar Gah to work with the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
