Employers’ PAYE admin burden could be lifted
The pay-as-you-earn (PAYE) tax system is set for a fundamental overhaul as the government aims to reduce the burden on employers and taxpayers.HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has launched a consultation on the improvement plans, which would introduce more frequent or “real-time” PAYE information to bring better efficiency to the tax and welfare system.
