Indian government to be consulted on immigration cap

David Cameron is to consult the Indian government on the UK’s non-EU immigration cap to avert the possibility of a breakdown in trade relations between the two countries. The prime minster, who is currently visiting India, has pledged to reduce levels of net immigration to the UK to that of the 1990s, or “tens of thousands, rather than the hundreds of thousands”.
