Why age issues still matter to HR
The demographic realities of an ageing workforce – with more people over 65 than under 16 in this country and the number of workers per retired pensioner forecast to halve from 4:1 to 2:1 by 2060 – haven’t changed one iota. It will be the biggest trend affecting employment and HR policies in this country over the next 30 years. However, the government and employer priorities certainly have changed.
