BBC North HR director Paul Gaskin has resigned after seven months in the role after refusing to relocate from London to Manchester.

Gaskin is the latest in a string of top BBC executives and high-profile presenters reported to have been unhappy over plans to transfer to Salford Quays – an £877 million move that aims to make the corporation less “London-centric”.
