Poundland creates 2,000 new jobs

Value retailer Poundland is set to create 2,000 new jobs as its business is boosted by Britain’s austerity culture.

The jobs will be in the company’s new raft of stores, which are part of huge expansion plans to capitalise on increased customer demand. Annual pre-tax profits soared by 130 per cent to £19.8 million for the year to March 2010, up from £8.6 million the previous year.
