Doctors’ workload blamed for high dropout rates
Nearly a quarter of junior doctors drop out of their NHS training in England after two years, according to data from the Medical Programme Board (MPB), which oversees training.
The survey is the first to measure training dropout rates since the introduction of the European Working Time Directive (EWTD), which limits doctors to a 48-hour week.
