NHS trusts agree robust whistleblower policy

An official NHS whistleblowing policy that enables staff to flag up malpractice concerns without fear of reprisal is to be brought in by all health service employers.The NHS Staff Council has agreed that workers have a contractual right and duty to raise genuine fears about malpractice, patient safety or other serious public risks with their NHS employer.
