Scottish council workers may strike over pay freeze
Scottish councils have imposed a three-year pay deal on local government staff after union pay negotiations broke down last week.The new deal, which will affect 150,000 workers, involves a 0.65 per cent pay rise for this year, backdated to April, followed by pay freezes in 2011 and 2012.
