Should I look for a specialist HR role?
I feel like I’m at an important crossroads, having been in HR for five years and CIPD-qualified for three. Working in a company with 150 employees and a tiny HR department, both the roles I’ve held have been very wide ranging. This has been a great way to gain breadth, but sometimes I feel I haven’t developed much depth of expertise. If I were to look for a specialist role, for example, in reward management or training and development, would this make me more attractive to employers, or restrict my future career opportunities?
