The truth about pensions in the armed forces
Gillian Hibberd (HR column, 12 August) is wrong to say the armed forces do not contribute to their pensions. When I left the armed forces in 2007, it was the policy of the Ministry of Defence that armed forces pay was “abated” by 7 per cent as a contribution to the Armed Forces Pension Schemes.
